A.A. Solovyova is a realist sculptor, a master of genre compositions. At the beginning of the XX century. According to its models, the Kasli plant cast about a dozen statuettes and sculptural groups. The model of the sculpture "Nozdrev" was made ca. 1897 for the series “Heroes of N.V. Gogol ", presumably preparing for the 100th anniversary of the birth of the classic. Nozdrev is a satirical character in the poem by N.V. Gogol's Dead Souls (1842) is a landowner, whose name has become synonymous with an empty talker, a gossip, a petty swindler. A full-length figure of Nozdryov, in a dressing gown, with his arms spread at chest level. The interpretation of the image is grotesque. The inscription on the front side of the stand: "Nozdrev". The Kasli plant has been casting the sculpture from the end of the 19th century.
